Daniel Matamala

He is a journalist from the Catholic University of Chile and Master of Arts in Political Journalism from Columbia University. In 2018, he completed a residency at the Stigler Center for the Study of the Economy and the State, at the University of Chicago Business School. He has been a host, panelist, and editor on radio and television programs. He is the author of Goles y autogoles. La impropia relación entre el fútbol y la política (2001, 2015); 1962. El mito del Mundial chileno (2010); Tu cariño se me va. La batalla por los votantes del nuevo Chile (2013); Power Games. How Sports help to elect Presidents, run campaigns and promote wars (2014); Poderoso caballero. El pe$o del dinero en la política chilena (2016) and Los reyes desnudos (2018). He has won the journalism excellence award from the Universidad Alberto Hurtado four times, in the genres of opinion column (2016 and 2018), Television Interview (2018) and Television coverage (2011). He also received the MAG award for Best Interview (2012) and the APES award for best television interviewer in Chile (2009). Today, he is a host on CNN Chile and Chilevisión, and a columnist for La Tercera.
