Samanta Schweblin (Argentina, 1978) is an Argentine writer born in Buenos Aires, internationally recognized for her short narrative and unsettling style. Among her most notable books are Pájaros en la boca, Siete casas vacías, and the novel Distancia de Rescate (published in English as Fever Dream), which was a finalist for the International Booker Prize. She has been awarded prizes such as the Fondo Nacional de las Artes, the Premio Casa de las Américas, and the Premio Internacional de Narrativa Breve Ribera del Duero. She resides in Berlin, where she continues to develop her literary career and is considered one of the most original voices in contemporary Spanish literature.
