Hiromu Arakawa, nacida el 8 de mayo de 1973 en Hokkaidō, Japón, es una destacada mangaka reconocida por sus influyentes obras en el género del manga shōnen. Antes de dedicarse profesionalmente al manga, Arakawa trabajó en la granja lechera de su familia, experiencia que posteriormente inspiraría algunas de sus creaciones.

Entre sus obras más destacadas se encuentra "Fullmetal Alchemist" (2001-2010), que le valió el 49º Premio de Manga Shōgakukan en la categoría shōnen. Otra obra notable es "Silver Spoon" (2011-2019), que recibió el 5º Premio Manga Taishō en 2012. Además, Arakawa ha trabajado en la adaptación al manga de "The Heroic Legend of Arslan".
