Gustave Flaubert
Gustave Flaubert (Rouen, December 12, 1821-Croisset, May 8, 1880) was a French writer. Considered one of the greatest novelists worldwide, he is mainly known for his novel Madame Bovary, as well as for his scrupulous devotion to his art and style, the best example of which was his endless search for le mot juste (‘the exact word’).
