Vicente Romano García
Vicente Romano García (Alamillo, Ciudad Real, 1935 – Madrid, 2014) was a writer, professor, translator, and intellectual committed to critical thinking and social transformation. PhD in Public Communication from the University of Münster and in Information Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid, he taught at both institutions, as well as at the University of Seville. His work as a translator included works by authors such as Karl Marx, Arthur Schopenhauer, Immanuel Kant, Friedrich Schiller, and Bertolt Brecht.

Among his most notable works are The Formation of the Submissive Mindset (1993), The Linguistic Intoxication (2007), Ecology of Communication (2007), Sociogenesis of Witches: The Origin of Women's Discrimination (2007), and Time and Space in Communication (2007). He also co-wrote Valle de Alcudia (1967) with Fernando Sanz. His focus was on criticizing the mechanisms of social control and media manipulation, always promoting a free and reflective consciousness.
