Brigitte Vasallo
Brigitte Vasallo (Barcelona, 1973) is a Spanish writer, activist, and feminist thinker, known for her critique of the monogamous system and her advocacy for new forms of affective and sexual relationships. With a career spanning over two decades, she has been an influential voice in the analysis of the intersection between gender, desire, and culture.

Daughter of a Galician family that migrated to Catalonia, Vasallo claims her charnego identity and has lived part of her adult life in Morocco, which has given her a unique perspective on thought and intercultural relationships. Without formal university studies, she has worked in various trades and has collaborated with media such as eldiario.es, Catalunya Ràdio, Pikara Magazine, and La Directa.

Her work focuses on the critique of monogamy as a social system and on exploring affective alternatives, such as polyamory. In her book Monogamous Thought, Polyamorous Terror (2018), she analyzes how monogamy has been imposed as a norm and how polyamory can reproduce hierarchical structures if not deeply questioned. Additionally, she has addressed issues such as gendered Islamophobia and the instrumental use of feminism in xenophobic contexts.

Vasallo has also been a lecturer in the Master's in Gender and Communication at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and has participated in international conferences on non-monogamies and affectivity. Her critical approach and direct style have established her as a key thinker in the field of contemporary feminism.
