Sergio Gómez
Sergio Gómez (Temuco, Chile, 1962) is a Chilean writer, editor, and columnist known for his literary work, especially in the youth sector. He studied Law and Literature at the University of Concepción, where he graduated as a Spanish teacher in 1989. He was one of the creators of the cultural supplement "Zona de Contacto" in the newspaper El Mercurio. His literary career began with the publication of short stories and novels, winning awards such as the Alerce (1998) and the El Barco de Vapor Prize (2008).

In 1999, he gained great popularity with Quique Hache, detective, a youth novel that started a successful series featuring a teenage investigator. The character, Quique Hache, is a 15-year-old boy keen on solving mysteries, often with the help of his nanny Gertru. The series has been a success in Chile, with more than 80,000 copies sold until 2015. Additionally, graphic novels based on the series have been published, such as El misterio del arquero desaparecido (2009) and El misterio de Santiago (2015).

Throughout his career, Sergio Gómez has been awarded various literary prizes and has maintained an active involvement in Chilean youth literature.
