Jamie Smart ha sido ilustrador durante diez años. Empezó haciendo tiras cómicas en una revista de cocina semanal y trabajó por su cuenta como diseñador de tarjetas en Cartlton Cards...Bear, un osito de peluche parlante atormentado por un gato, es su personaje más popular y fue el protagonista de una colección de diez libros. Jamie creó el cómic de Space Raoul para la publicación del The Funday Times y poco después empezó a trabajar en The Dandy para My Own Genie, una historia que funcionó durante tres años...Estos últimos años ha estado escribiendo y dibujando Desperate Dan for the the Dandy.
