Synopsis "A Vietnamese Angel"

The story of creating this book goes back to 2008 when James (Jim) Munson published the book he had been thinking about writing for 40 years. However, he had not discussed this plan with anyone on a realistic level until sometime in 2006. Jim and Joy lived in the same neighborhood from 1940 until their's HS graduation from the same school in 1948. Jim married Joy in 1981. I (Joy) was the first to hear about his idea sometime in 2006, as best I can recall. I was surprised to find myself convinced and excited as lengthy discussions continued, and we, at last, started the journey of writing his story. Jim asked me to help him, and we began the project. He did not learn the keyboard, but he was typing, one finger, hunt and peck method, and reached an acceptable speed in a few weeks. He wrote his story while I sat next to him at my own computer and only offered changes of grammar or language suggestions and corrections, etc., throughout the 2-year project. After Jim's death, while again looking through his writings, I was surprised and pleased to discover he had left many stories, notes, and beginnings of stories. I selected one of these and rewrote and published it in August 2020 as a sequel to his 2008 book titled The Electrifying Angels Flight by Joy Munson. This third book, A Vietnamese Angel, is also based on one of his books that I have chosen to rewrite and publish dedicated to Jim. I approached the story with confusion because the characters and timeline were familiar to the 2008 story theme although not suitable as a sequel. However, there was already a sequel to the 2008 book. The first chapters are pleasant as they describe Kimeelu (the Vietnamese Angel). After that, her life and years to adulthood are fascinating, and many human interest episodes establish why she is called an angel. Continuing intrigue involves military and Air Force personnel and several events showing crime, investigations, and justification for murder and other injustices. However, there are many good and happy times, entertaining happenings, and again human interest passages. There is a strong theme of pilots, planes, helicopters, law enforcement, loyalty, and citizenship throughout the story. The story ends happily with these former friends reunited in their new career in a new town and as newlyweds anticipating health, happiness, and prosperity, forever. If one has read the first two books we have written, it will be no surprise to recognize the characters at the end of the story. In any case, it is an exciting and good finish to an engaging story.
