Synopsis "Clear Fork Station: Texas 1858"
A novel woven around real places, people, and events. In 1850 fictional character Theophilus (Tee) Wells' love chose to marry another. Since then he has drifted around the Missouri River country until in 1858 The Butterfield Overland Mail hires him and his brother Jim to build and operate a relay station on the banks of the Clear Fork of the Brazos River in Texas. The brothers arrive to find their station sandwiched between two Indian reservations. The river is an unreliable water supply and, there are outlaws, rustlers, and vigilantes at every turn.
