Synopsis "Cornish Folk Tales of Place: Traditional Stories From North and East Cornwall"
This is the first ever collection of traditional folk tales from the moors, villages and coasts of North and East Cornwall. It is the culmination of the Mazed project in which local writers and storytellers have been working together, finding and retelling tales from old collections. These tales have been brought alive again on the streets, in classrooms and by firesides. The moors are home to Tamara the earth spirit, who falls in love with two giant brothers. What will be her price? Villages are full of witches, such as the Padstow witch that lurks in the well. At the coast, the White Hare of Looe jumps from boat to boat warning of a storm and the piskey spoon.
