The author, Donald Kuspit, traces the artist's evolution from the Super Realist auto bumpers and showrooms and shop windows of the early 1970s; through the technical dazzling of dime store toys, trinkets, pots and pans and silverware on glass shelves of the later 1970s; through hallucinatory works of the 1980s; to the spiritual works of the 1990s, many in triptych format that portray scenes from nature.
