Dr. Borishade unapologetically asserts the viability of African traditional knowledge and African reality. She demonstrates the appropriateness of utilizing that knowledge as a wedge that cracks open and creates its own space within the colonial discourses on Africa and African people. Within these pages this scholar-activist presents a philosophical and historical discussion drawn from traditional African thought and belief. She presents a bright new vision of Liberian history and inspires new meaning for a broader, more inclusive history of Liberian people.
