Meister Eckhart: Mystische Schriften Neu editierte Ausgabe, mit aktuellem Vorwort Eckhart von Hochheim (bekannt als Meister Eckhart, um 1260-1328) ist einer der bedeutendsten Glaubenslehrer aller Zeiten. Und dazu wurde er nicht durch Gottesfurcht und Angepasstheit, sondern durch seinen scharfen Verstand und intellektuellen Mut. Stillstand gab es im Mittelalter allerorten, doch Eckharts Geisteshaltung war das genaue Gegenteil: Er stand nicht still, weder geistig noch örtlich. Aus Thüringen stammend, studierte er unter anderem in Stra burg, lehrte in Paris und Köln. Seine Schriften und Predigten sind geschliffen intellektuell und oft von einer unorthodoxen Auslegung kirchlicher Glaubenssätze geprägt. Spätere Rezipienten bringen ihn in Zusammenhang mit pantheistischem Denken und erkennen Übereinstimmungen mit fernöstlichen Religionen, insbesondere mit dem Zen-Buddhismus.
