Popularly known as Babasaheb Ambedkar, Bhimrao Ambedkar was born in Madhya Pradesh on April 14, 1891, to Ramji Maloji Sakpal (Subedar in the Indian Army) and Bhimabai Sakpal. He also laboured to advance women and other oppressed groups while advocating for the elimination of the caste system. Ambedkar, who was known for his audacious denunciation of Hinduism and its inherent demeaning caste system.
