The men and women who learned to draw by hand with pencils learned to draw with computers. Some of that transition was sudden, a revolution. Most was more gradual, an evolution. Off the Boards tells the story of the transition. The author experienced its entire span, observing how the changes affected design, the profession, and the entire practice of architecture. Architectural projects, called work on the boards, moved off the boards.
