Synopsis "Oliver Twist (Ariel English Illustrated)"
Oliver Twist crudely describes the reality of the other side of the Victorian era: begging, prostitution, child labor, crime, and unhealthiness. The nineteenth-century London was full of social injustices, stemming from industrial growth, urbanization, and the contradictions of the prevailing Victorian morality. In this context, the unfortunate Oliver Twist embarks on the search for a better life by migrating to the big city. At the beginning of his stay he experiences long misfortunes and little happiness; however, chance and justice help him to meet good people who protect him from the misery of the urban underworld.
