Fachbuch aus dem Jahr 2011 im Fachbereich Kunst - Malerei, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Mit dem Ehrentitel "Pionierin des Expressionismus in Deutschland" ging die Künstlerin Paula Modersohn-Becker (1876-1907), geborene Minna Hermine Paula Becker, in die Geschichte der Malerei ein. Innerhalb von knapp 14 Jahren, in denen sie künstlerisch tätig war, schuf sie 750 Gemälde, etwa 1.000 Zeichnungen und 13 Radierungen, welche die bedeutendsten Aspekte der Kunst des frühen 20. Jahrhunderts in sich vereinen. Ihre beliebtesten Motive waren bäuerliche Frauen und Kinder, Selbstbildnisse und Stilleben. Sie vertrat die Auffassung: "Die Stärke, mit der ein Gegenstand erfasst wird (Stilleben, Porträts oder Phantasiegebilde), das ist die Schönheit in der Kunst". In der Literatur wird sie zuweilen auch "Paula Modersohn" oder "Paula Becker-Modersohn" genannt.
