(Shropshire 1881 - St. Leonards on Sea 1927) fue una novelista y poeta inglesa. Empezó a escribir cuando tenía diez años, pero siempre acababa quemando todos sus poemas. Sin embargo, una vez su hermanó leyó uno y sin decirle nada, lo llevó al Shrewsbury Chronicle, que lo publicó anónimamente. Mary quedó asombrada ante la buena acogida que tuvo.
