Synopsis "That Woman. Miss Lewinsky"
A dark comedy in one act about the Clinton administration. On January 26, 1998, President Bill Clinton tells the American people, "I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky." Monica Lewinsky, twenty-one years old when she first arrived at the White House, becomes the center of a political storm. Disclosure of this extramarital affair results in an investigation that leads the U.S. House of Representatives to impeach the president later that year. After a twenty-one day trial by the Senate, Mr. Clinton is acquitted of the charges of perjury and obstruction of justice. This one-act play imagines, from the vantage of hindsight, this unfortunate episode in American presidential history.
