Synopsis "We're In This Together"

Welcome to Point Comfort! This booklet is a small sign of our commitment to supporting seafarers who visit the Port of Point Comfort, Texas. This book contains texts from some of our friends and partners. During the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic, retired Episcopal priest, The Rev. Jim Abernathey, recorded weekly messages of hope and encouragement for seafarers. The Most Rev. Brendan J. Cahill is Bishop of The Diocese of Victoria in Texas and a keen supporter of the Point Comfort Seafarers Center which is located in his Diocese. The Point Comfort Seafarers Center is part of a network of seafarers' ministries around North America called NAMMA that with heart and hand support the men and women of thes sea. In NAMMA's magazine, The MARE Report, journalist Susan Huppert wrote a story explaining the early beginnings of our center and the work we do.
