Synopsis "Arabic Handwriting for Beginners (in Arabic)"

Arabic Handwriting is a series of four graded writing books, combined in one book, designed for beginners to write in Arabic. A one-page instructions for teachers for the level of each book is included after each cover. A carefully devised system of simple guidelines is used to help the student with formation of the letters. The script is Naskh which the student will encounter in reading. The vocabulary and sentences provided for copying are varied and interesting, and fit in with the early stages of the student's reading in Arabic. This series of writing books were first published in 1979 and were initially distributed to schools in Northern Nigeria, and subsequently in other countries were there is a demand for Arabic writing books for beginners.
