Die Pastourelle zählt zu den beliebteren lyrischen Gattungen innerhalb der altfranzösischen und altokzitanischen Literatur. Anhand motivgeschichtlicher Analysen wird die Rezeption der Pastourelle innerhalb der mittelhochdeutschen Lyrik neu bewertet. Im Zentrum steht die produktive Auseinandersetzung der deutschen Minnesänger mit den zentralen Motiven der Pastourelle. Dabei stützt sich die Studie vor dem Hintergrund eines prototypentheoretischen Gattungsverständnisses auf das Gesamtkorpus der überlieferten galloromanischen Pastourellen und untersucht auch solche Lieder deutscher Minnesänger, die bislang nicht im Fokus der Forschung zur deutschsprachigen Pastourellenrezeption standen.
