En veintinueve capitulos y a traves de un punado de personajes que recorren toda esta «casi novela» con sus vicisitudes, el autor desgrana su vision acida del mundo moderno. Antes la gente tenia mas vicios, fumaba en los bares, comia carne sin complejos, apreciaba mas lo inesperado, actuaba con pasion. Ahora, en cambio, se prohibe fumar, todo el mundo bebe menos en las fiestas, come sano y practica deporte, las ciudades parecen fotocopiadas unas de otras y lo «ecologico» triunfa por doquier. Quiere celebrar la ciudad como un lugar repleto de aventuras en cuyas callejuelas esperan las amantes mas bellas, pero constata con horror como proliferan en ella los horrendos centros comerciales. Lamenta que en el mundo de hoy todo lo informal y erotico se combate, y todo lo pornografico, en cambio, goza de la aprobacion general. / In twenty nine chapters and by means of a handful of characters whose vicissitudes occur throughout this almost novel, the author unveils his acerbic vision of the modern world. People used to have more vices; they smoked in bars, they ate meat without concern, they appreciated the unexpected, and they acted with passion. Now, smoking is forbidden, everyone drinks less at parties, eats healthily and does exercise; cities seem like photocopies of each other and the ecological has triumphed all over the place. He wants to celebrate the city as a place filled with adventure, in whose alleyways the most beautiful of lovers wait, but he realises with horror how instead awful commercial centres proliferate within them. He laments that in todays world all that is informal and erotic is being fought against, and yet the pornographic enjoys general approval.
