En 1990, Xabier Pérez Larrea, pamplonés de 17 años, permaneció durante casi treinta horas en el mar agarrado a su tabla de windsurf, deporte que practicaba cuando desapareció, arrastrado por el viento y con mar encrespada, de la playa de la Pineda, en Salou (Tarragona).
