Habría, así, un amanecer o primavera de lo posmoderno, entre finales del siglo XVIII y principios del XIX (con Goya, Füssli o William Blake como artistas destacados); un mediodía o verano, que se corresponde con las vanguardias artísticas de principios del siglo XX (Gauguin, Seurat, Picasso…) y, por último, la actual y prolongada fase otoñal, o vespertina, de expansión de lo posmoderno a las distintas culturas del planeta.
