Redmond is a shape-changing Protector like all his people. He and his sister, Aashni, have rare abilities they must discover and learn to control so they can fight the Xathosi. The Xathosi are worse than the Renegades who were once Protectors themselves but decided to ignore their responsibilities for selfish reasons. The Xathosi are invaders who will destroy a planet, taking everything from it including the plants, animals, minerals and atmosphere. Once there is nothing left, they move to another planet. They pride themselves in their cruelty, disdaining concern for others. Redmond and Aashni help protect Planet Taj against the Xathosi, discovering and learning to use their abilities with the help of Wizard Fidnabs. They have many adventures along the way.
