Synopsis "Too Close to the Sun: Poetry & Anecdotes by a Chicago-Okie"
This is a book of poetry, with a few anecdotes at the end. It is derived from a variety of lifetime experiences. It touches on a few professions, feelings, and even mildly, politics. About the AuthorI was born in Chicago, Jan. 1, 1945, the second baby that year and named after both Grandmothers. About age 7, the U.S. Coastguard fished this daring little girl out of Lake Michigan, before she drowned. My father was a Jeweler in The Loop but he died 11/8/1954. My mother was a native of Oklahoma and brought us here to grow up. I played all-star basketball and ran track in highschool. Later I studied Journalism at Murray State College under Tom S. Wood. Then I studied Art at East Central University, under Dee J. Lafon, Robert Sieg and Bob Barker. For three years I taught Kindergarten and retired from Southwestern Bell, now AT&T.
