One day she has a bright idea! She could go to work for a dentist in disguise as a dental assistant! This way she could teach boys and girls how to properly take care of their teeth and no one would ever know she was "the real tooth fairy!" In 1989, Lori Welch Wilson followed her passion and graduated from the Dental Assisting Program at Alamance Community College, Burlington, North Carolina. She has been a pediatric dental assistant for 27 years and has been "The Tooth Fairy" for 18 years of her dental career. "Working with children has brought so much joy to my life. The love and laughter makes my heart bubble up with happiness. By meeting the Tooth Fairy in Disguise, I hope to leave children with great dental habits throughout their lifetime." "As a little girl I always wanted to work in a dental office and teach children about positive dental health. It all started one day when my cousin, Jackie Sue Hood, took me with her to work . She was the Dental Hygienist for Alamance County in North Carolina. I would go and help her do dental presentations for the children. I was fascinated with everything! From the dental forms, lessons about brushing teeth and to the red disclosing tablets. I loved it! I knew this was what I wanted to do one day."
