Los escritos sobre los descubrimientos prehistóricos de Atapuerca describen al género humano como una especie no elegida (que no sabe de dónde viene ni qué sentido puede tener), regida por las leyes del azar y de la naturaleza, y donde lo religioso debe ser superado en aras de una pretendida visión más “científica y materialista” de la realidad. No podemos resignarnos a dar como válida esta visión tan estrecha y reductivista del misterio humano. La Fe cristiana tiene mucho que decir sobre el origen del hombre, el sentido y, por supuesto, sobre las claves de su futuro (especialmente en la relación entre ética y técnica). Ofrecemos el resultado de nuestras investigaciones dentro del apasionante campo fronterizo del diálogo entre Fe y ciencia. Ojalá la Catedral (símbolo de lo religioso cristiano y Patrimonio de la Humanidad) y el futuro Museo de la Evolución (símbolo de la ciencia y de la Sierra de Atapuerca, también Patrimonio de la Humanidad), lejos de enfrentarse en cosmovisiones divergentes, se complementen. Fe y ciencia no se pueden separar ni ignorar. Ambas se necesitan.
