Breve (alrededor de 156 páginas) y así fue. Si bien la sinopsis nos adelanta de la historia de un escritor en desgracia en un intento por lanzar otra publicación y sumergido en una espiral de bohemia con un desastre de vida personal, personalmente no encontré una cohesión fuerte en la trama en virtud del nombre de este trabajo de Buarque. No sé si fue o la traducción (cosa que personalmente pongo en duda) o en sí, este Duarte (el protagonista) nos confunde bastante en su angustia disfrazada cuyo pasado se lo lleva, al final de la trama. Confusa. Se aprecia lo breve (tal vez, pudo ser mucho más breve, pero podría haber sido una historia sin tantas lagunas entremedio). Buarque es un gran artista contemporáneo, pero como en gusto no hay nada escrito, me quedo con su trabajo anterior y mucho más realista, como dramático: "el hermano alemán (O irmão alemão).
