Antonio Caballero (Bogotá, Colombia, 1945). Cartoonist, journalist, and writer. He has published cartoons in Cromos, El Tiempo, and El Espectador, from Bogotá; in Candide and Plexus, from Paris; in Mayfair, from London, and in Evergreen Review, from New York. In journalism, he has worked for various media, such as The Economist for Latin America and BBC, from London; Agence France-Presse, from Paris; Cambio 16, Diario 16, and El País, from Madrid, and El Tiempo, El Espectador, Alternativa, Semana, and Cambio, from Bogotá. He has also published several books of cartoons, among which are Apertura, oración y cierre, Reflexioné-monos, and Este país. He also has books compiling his press articles, such as Paisaje con figuras (chronicles of art, literature, and music) and El oficio de opinar, and several on bullfighting chronicles: Toros, toreros y públicos, Los siete pilares del toreo, and Toreo de sillón. In addition to his unique and emblematic novel: Sin remedio. In 2018, Editorial Planeta published under the Crítica label Historia de Colombia y sus oligarquías, a work that had been commissioned to its author by the National Library of Colombia in 2016.
