Synopsis "A Falsum Satus (False Start)"

The Anglican Diocese of Harare, experienced its worst Episcopal oversight since its founding in 1891. The diocese, went through the most excruciating, unexpected, as well as unbelievable experience at the hands of The Rt Rev'd Dr. Nolbert Kunonga from the year 2001 till the 16th October 2007 when he was excommunicated by the Church of the Province of Central Africa. Lots of clergy left the DoH and sought refuge in other Dioceses or countries, with most of the clergy settling in the United Kingdom. A very thin line existed between Nolbert Kunonga and the ruling party ZANU PF and its leader Robert Mugabe. Sham church convocations such as Diocesan Standing Committee meetings and Synods became the order of the day. The Diocese was dragged into countless the circular courts on countless occasions as Nolbert Kunonga tried to usurp, seize and expropriate the church and its properties and convert everything into his private property. Numerous faithful church members were physically beaten up, maimed, or even killed as they tried to defend their church and its properties. One question remains - 'How can such experiences happen at the behest of Bishop in the church of God?
