Synopsis "A Kentucky Boy Goes to Sea as a Naval Officer: A Memoir"
This is a memoir of Marshall Van Sant Hall's twenty-one year career (1968 - 1989) as a U.S. Navy officer, which included service on five U.S. ships as well as service as an exchange officer assigned to the Navy of Argentina prior to the Falklands War where he served on several Argentine ships including an aircraft carrier, a gun cruiser, destroyers, and an ice breaker operating in the Antarctic. It also details his time in-country service in Vietnam, tours at the U.S. Naval War College and the Pentagon, and time serving as a Naval Attaché in Spain.
