H.W.Hudson evoca en "Allá lejos y tiempo atrás" sus años de juventud en Argentina con una prosa que lo sitúa entre los mejores escritores en lengua inglesa. Arnaldo Calveyra relee a Hudson y enhebra su prosa personal (esa prosa que mantiene desde siempre un equilibrio vacilante con la poesía) con la del releído. De una prosa a la otra hay cambios de voces, pero el tejido es fuerte y tenue como el horizonte del campo. Todo en "Allá en lo verde Hudson" (el autor como matiz de color) está hecho de estas continuidades secretas, nunca evidentes, y a la vez de imperceptibles hiatos. "Allá en lo verde Hudson" podría leerse como una antología comentada, aunque es en realidad un diálogo imposible y sin embargo realizado.
