Horacio Eloy ha escrito una sola gran obra con

cuarenta años. Su poética de las calles, las rotondas
y las plazas sin memoria es un homenaje a los
habitantes de la ciudad, a quienes caminaban “bajo
estrellas y puentes”; a los amantes que se besaban en
la oscuridad de los cines de barrio. Eloy compone
una poesía del dolor de quienes viven en este “gran
valle labrado de cicatrices” y que alcanzan desde el
amor la redención superando la tragedia social, la
desesperanza y la muerte. La poesía es la palabra de
salvación para los devastados de la ciudad.
