Synopsis "Arcterra"

In this, the first book of an action-packed, futuristic series, the main character, Makiao searches for his father who he believes to be alive even though Makiao was raised in an orphanage.  Makiao lives on the planet Arcterra, which was discovered and settled after it was determined that more resources were needed to sustain the growing human population. Once the brave Pioneers were able to settle the new planet it was quickly realized, that this planet belonged to another alien race. This started a war over the planet that has been ongoing for 50 years. The year is 2170 and Makiao is being raised in an orphanage which supplies trained soldiers to the military. On his 18th birthday he will be shipped off on his first assignment. The adventures begin when he decides to escape from the orphanage, two days before this first assignment.  Makiao meets a group of friends who are willing to help him try to find his father.  On their journey the group use their many talents and advanced technology to defend themselves from life threatening enemies on both sides of the war. Uncovering some clues they believe they are well on their way.
