This process of transformation involved not just my spirituality and religion but my views on culture and politics as well. Under St. Joan's care, I developed a new world view, one that is Catholic, Royalist, and Counterrevolutionary. It took me a decade of prayer, reflection, and writing to understand just how she accomplished that in me. After years of studying her life in the light of my Catholic faith, the answer finally came, and it struck me like a thunderbolt. I can describe it only as Beyond the Counterrevolution.Having already been a Catholic for many years prior, the change could not have been simply religious. I realized that in fact this life-affirming change was philosophical in nature rather than theological. All of my adult life, I had held a philosophy, a way of deciding what was true and what was not, that crippled my ability to draw from the fount of grace offered me by Christ through His Catholic Church. St. Joan of Arc changed all that in an instant, and the waters of grace flowed. Beyond the Counterrevolution is a reflection on that change and on how important to our supernatural faith is having the correct natural philosophy.
