Synopsis "Celebrating Tongues and Interpretation, Our Heirloom from the Bridegroom: A Bible Study for Home, Church, and the World"
A black and white edition of an in-depth Bible study on the supernatural Holy Spirit vocal gifts of tongues (glossolalia) and interpretation. Antique and contemporary art illustrations of the text are in black and white. Topics include the benefits and purposes of tongues for the individual, the corporate body of believers, and the public. Special topics include the interpretation of tongues as a form of prophecy; tongues to foster unity in the Holy Spirit and to release the royal priesthood of all believers into their unique ministries; tongues as a key to global power evangelism; tongues as a sign to unbelievers, intended for public display to authenticate the faith; tongues as a catalyst for personal transformation; and the demonic counterfeit to Holy Spirit tongues. Emphasis is on Biblical truth, real life experiences, and mandates to steward and impart these gifts that have never expired. Some scientific research studies are cited. Appendixes 1 and 2 address linguistic fallacies, including the notion that tongues are self-constructed language mimicry, that tongues of Christians are qualitatively the same as tongues of occult practitioners, and that tongues are solely of human origin rather than human-spirit partnership. Reference tools such as endnotes, works cited, and index are included.
