Synopsis "Child of Woe"
The Year is 775 A.D and King Charlemagne looks upon the free kingdoms of Northern Europe with a hunger that cannot ever be sated. In preparation for his future actions against the sovereign nations and tribes of Europe, plans are formed and alliances are cemented. The Franks can taste their inevitable rise to supremacy but the Pagan world is not without its own warriors. These warriors will send a chilling message to the heart of an Empire and remind King Charlemagne that a battle cannot be won unless it is fought. The Gods of the old ways are preoccupied with the growing slaughter in the lands of the Fire Giants. Civil war pitches brother against brother and the nine realms tremble at the consequences of the war. If Helbindi is successful then the Realm of Fire will march against all it declares unworthy. If the Prince Regent is victorious others will surely test his mettle. The Nine realms are losing cohesion and soon every realm will be attempting to right all their petty differences. While chaos reigns the Queen of the Dead hatches her own plans which are designed to crush the hegemony of Asgard and would allow her to ascend to a position of true power. With everyone distracted, who could possibly stop the Dark Goddess from acquiring true and everlasting power?
