entre los días 14 y 18 de julio de 2003, dentro de las actividades programadas por la universidad internacional de mar, se celebró en el hemiciclo de la facultad de letras de la universidad de murcia el curso titulado “entrando en cuarentena: la nueva crítica literaria y la nueva narrativa española”. la intención fue reunir en un mismo acto a escritores y críticos que en esa fecha rondaran los cuarenta años, a algunos escritores y críticos de la generación que protagonizará la narrativa y la crítica literaria del primer cuarto del siglo xxi. aunque algunos ya tenían por entonces una nutrida obra y miles de lectores, la mayoría no había alcanzado todavía el reconocimiento pleno de la institución literaria, no había tomado el poder. a los cuarenta, casi todos ellos estaban todavía en cuarentena: una consecuencia del aumento de la esperanza de vida y, como apunta alguno de los trabajos aquí presentados, de algo de cicatería
