Synopsis "Cuentos de amor de locura y de muerte (in Spanish)"

Horacio Quiroga (1878-1937), escritor uruguayo que residió muchos años en la Argentina, fue uno de los cuentistas más originales de Latinoamérica. Fuertemente influido por Poe y el Maupassant del “Horla”, describió con intensidad dramática y vigoroso realismo el ambiente, los seres humanos y los animales del Charco y la selva misionera.
Entre sus obras destacan Cuentos de la selva, delicioso libro de relatos para niños, y Cuentos de amor de locura y de muerte, ambos publicados en 1918. Este último, que hoy presentamos, incluye algunos de sus mejores cuentos: “La gallina degollada”, “El almohadón de plumas” y sobre todo “La insolación”, una lograda historia de perros que hablan.
