Synopsis "Diabetes, stress and sedentary lifestyles: adapting European guidelines in Colombia"
The European Guidelines published a revision of the first recommendations by the Second Joint Task Force in 1998, which established lifestyle, risk factor and treatment objectives for cardiovascular prevention, showing a reduction in risk factors in the European population, allowing control of the disease and improving the quality of life of patients with cardiovascular pathologies. Currently our Colombian adult society leads a hectic pace of life, which is influenced by economic, social and psychological conditions, bringing with it changes in lifestyle habits, leading to the acquisition of risk factors such as diabetes, stress and sedentary lifestyle, which play an important role in the onset and progression of cardiovascular disease, For this reason, it is considered important to adapt the European Guidelines to the Colombian population in order to have guidelines for promotion and prevention, to reduce the risk factors of these diseases, providing and improving the lifestyle of each individual and therefore their quality of life, being a great contribution to Colombian society.
