Synopsis "Die Judenbuche (in German)"

Die Judenbuche. Die Novelle mit dem Untertitel "ein Sittengemälde aus dem gebirgigen Westfalen" erzählt von einem nicht aufgeklärten Mord, der schlie lich dem Hauptdarsteller Friedrich Mergel, einem jungen Mann aus dem Dorf, in die Schuhe geschoben wird. Wegen des Verdachts flieht Friedrich, kehrt aber später zurück. Ort des Geschehens ist das abgelegene Dorf B., in dessen Abgeschiedenheit manches anders ist als anderswo.
