Wyl Menmuir and printmaker Lucy Grant commune in the 'dark wilderness' of caves, and Colin Taylor reflects on the fragile ecologies of islands.There is exclusive insight into the notebooks and creative practice of Jackie Morris and Robert Macfarlane, and we publish new writing by Kathleen Jamie. We join a poet and an artist in pursuit of the spirit of Edward Thomas and ponder the complicated and elusive history of the Green Man, while extraordinary 3D maps guide us deep underground into Devon and Cornwall's abandoned mines, which bear witness to thousands of hours work by generations of miners who shaped our modern world.
