Synopsis "Emotional Competencies in the Educational Process of Middle School Education"
Current education has been defined as a permanent learning process, where two major areas are recognized: the academic and the emotional, where the latter has had a greater relevance in recent times, specifically in relation to the emotional competencies that are manifested during the educational process and that can be known and valued by teachers. In Chile, both in initial teacher education (ITE) and during the development of the teaching profession, there should be programs, workshops or improvement courses that allow teachers to develop skills to know and manage their own emotional competencies as individuals, in order to be able to recognize the emotional competencies of their students. Due to what has been described above, the objective of this book is to understand the evaluations that high school teachers have about the emotional competencies of their students, recognizing that these competencies are necessary for an optimal development of the teaching-learning process, thus promoting emotionally aware educational centers.
