El aspecto ceremonial y festivo del Alto Tribunal de Justicia Castellano, al convertirse en pública manifestación del poder regio, tuvo una importancia vital. En este libro se concreta el papel de la Chancillería en la fiesta vallisoletana de los siglos XVII y XVIII y se analiza cómo, a través del mismo, la imagen de esta institución, y con ella la de la Justicia y la Monarquía, se construye y fortalece.
