Late one-night hardworking family man Jim Ignatius Wilson sees the sun reflect off an alien vessel as it dodges a satellite. And more than a year later gets chosen because of that incident. Rogand, a lonely old immortal thinks Jim would make a great recipient for the last surviving life-forms of a destroyed world. Now with a constant sidekick, Jim embarks on an inventing spree that revolutionizes travel. They say one idea can change the future. Now, throw in half a dozen and see what happens. With Earth safe, Rogand, Syman, and Jim call upon others to join their ever-growing circle of trustees to make sure no one finds out about their meddling in population control. And during this, one of Rogand's worlds comes under attack from a primitive race. With his newfound abilities, Jim helps these defenseless humanoids battle a gruesome reptilian enemy from the sky. As luck would have it, Jim and Syman are a perfect blend and move towards the complete harmony of total symbiosis. But sadly in this process, Jim's soul ascends to another reality.
