Synopsis "Goldy's Gecko Friends"
The fictional stories in the book were inspired by our observations of Goldy, a male gold dust day gecko, his family and other geckos as they stayed in a townhouse in Honolulu, Hawaii. In the book, Goldy learns about the different species of geckos in the townhouse, including mourning geckos, four-clawed geckos and a common house gecko. He gives names to the geckos that he meets. The geckos face challenges, including losing their tails, shedding their skins and searching for food. When a crisis arises, Goldy takes the initiative and saves the day for his friends. The book is written with middle grade readers, ages 8 to 12, in mind, and for anyone who is interested in learning more about geckos. You will discover that geckos can adapt to living in a townhouse and live together in harmony while respecting each other's territory. The book includes 55 color photographs and 5 color illustrations for your enjoyment.
