Gupi Gayen Bagha Bayen Gupi, the Gayen i.e. the singer and Bagha, the Bayen i.e. the drum beater were both expelled from their respective villages for their loud, irritating, incessant music, they used to play day in day out. Each went to the same forest to persevere with the music in peace. Each was soon scared out of the forest because of incessant noise apparently from some unknown animal. Each exited from the forest at the same time and met the other musician - perceived as an unknown noisy animal. This is when they thought some miracle might happen if they practice and persevere together. Not long after they started their joint venture, the ghosts of the forest were thrilled by their music. The king of ghosts awarded three boons to Gupi Gayen and Bagha Bayen: 1. Spellbound Audience to their music Whenever Wherever 2.
